The use of cookies

We use cookies on various pages in order to make visiting our website more convenient and to enable the use of certain functions. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your Computer.

Most of the cookies we use are deleted from your hard drive at the end of your browser session (known as ‘session cookies’). Other cookies remain on your computer and enable us to recognise your computer when you visit our site again (known as ‘persistent cookies’). These cookies serve to save the contents of your shopping basket, which can then be accessed when you return to the site.

Insofar as is necessary to process orders and advertise our products and services, we share your data with our affiliated companies within the EU who support us in terms of customer service, the dispatch of our products and the creation and distribution of our advertising materials. We take great care in the selection of our partners, who are obliged to adhere by legal requirements regarding the secure handling of your data and also to our own data privacy standards. In particular, our partners are not permitted to pass on data belonging to our customers to third parties for advertising purposes.

This website uses Google Analytics, a Web analysis service offered by Google, Inc. (‘Google’). Google Analytics uses cookies, or text files, which are saved on your computer and enable the analysis of your use of the website. The information about your use of the website (including your IP address) created by the cookie is transmitted to a Google server in the USA and saved there. Google will use this information to analyse your use of the website in order to create reports on website activity for the website operator and to be able to fulfil other services connected with using the website and the Internet. Google will only transmit this information to third parties where legally permissible or where third parties process this data on Google’s behalf. Under no circumstances will Google associate your IP address with other data stored by Google. You can prevent the installation of cookies by adjusting the settings of your browser; however, we would like to point out that you may not be able to make full use of all of the functions on the website if you do so. By using this website, you agree to the use of the data saved about you by Google in the manner and scope detailed above, and in accordance with the purposes listed above.

Your IP address will be anonymised by us and will therefore not be traceable to you. As a result of modifications to the Google Analytics code, your IP will be shortened to the last octet. As such, user profiles cannot be created and supplemented with other data, nor can the shortened IP address be traced back to your name or address.

If you do not want your data to be stored by Google Analytics on principle, you have the option of downloading the relevant opt-out browser add-on from https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout

To ensure the tailored design and optimum performance of this website, solutions and technologies by econda GmbH (www.econda.com) not only collect and store anonymized data, but also utilize this data to compile usage profiles by means of pseudonyms. Cookies can be used for this purpose which make it possible for an Internet browser to be recognized. Without the express consent of a visitor, however, usage profiles will not be stored together with data pertaining to the pseudonymous visitor. IP addresses, in particular, are rendered indecipherable immediately after receipt, which makes it impossible to match a usage profile with an IP address. Visitors to this website can opt out at any time of the collecting and storing of their data by visting www.econda.com/econda/company/data-protection/revocation-of-data-storage

In addition, the user behaviour is stored on this website and analysed in anonymized form in order to give individual recommendations to visitors of this website and propose articles that fit the visitor’s own personal interests. This aims at improving the usability of this website for visitors. For this purpose this website uses the recommendation engine of Recolize GmbH (www.recolize.com) and creates individual recommendations for users of this website by way of an anonymized analysis of visitor behaviour based, among other things, on viewed and bought articles.
